Whitworth is a Connecticut native who moved to Cape Cod with his wife June in
2001. He is a 22-year veteran of Madison Avenue, and was elected to Who's Who
in Advertising and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
He
now has his own catalog writing business called
The Catalog Pro.
Robert has written articles for Car & Driver,
Early American Life and Beau Monde magazines, plus the Prints
George web site and National 'Woodie' Club News. He is an avid cyclist,
whose longest trek was from Southport, CT to Montreal, Canada -- and back.
During that bike trip he had 2 'century days' (109 miles and 114 miles) - and
only 1 flat tire. Robert and his wife have spent many vacations in Europe, where
cycling is a passion - and cycling to work is the preferred mode of transportation
in cities. History is also a favorite subject, and Robert served as Special
Consultant to 3 PBS TV Series: Liberty, The American Revolution; Benjamin Franklin;
and Alexander Hamilton. He was an early participant in the infamous
"Cannonball Baker Sea-to-Shining- Sea Memorial Trophy Dash," sponsored
by Car & Driver magazine. His current automotive venture is serving
as a volunteer at the W.K. Vanderbilt, Jr. Concours d'elegance in Newport,
RI. Robert also works as a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. Additionally,
he likes woodworking and has had his work featured in the Crafts Directory of
Early American Life magazine twice (1997, 1998). Other interests include
playing bluegrass banjo, Nordic walking and photography.
Robert's wife
and cycling partner, June, is an image editor and researcher who also runs an
image agency called Prints George Image
Bank. Robert and June prefer living and working on Cape Cod more than any
place else on earth. | |
