Get
Ready for FUN with JR TECH Survivor Challenge Week!

will soon be coming to a close, but with the JR.TECH Summer Camp Workshops the
LEARNING and the FUN continues! Can
you survive the week? Your first challenge will be to work in groups to navigate
the low COPE ropes course. The week will include building a monkey bridge, a trestle
bridge and two types of friction bridges--with and without rope! Next,
work to build a raft that will transport your team safely across the lake. Another
challenge will be to make a compass and learn navigation skills to survive the
field course exercise. Learn
basic matchless fire starting skills, how to cook lunch for the day using solar
energy and how to use bike power (wind and pedal energy) to move large rocks and
logs along a challenge obstacle course. Team building, communication skills, cooperation
and problem solving are the keys to success during, "Survivor Week!"
PARENT
INFO: Kids enjoy a one week outdoor camp experience while learning about friction,
structural and mechanical engineering, buoyancy, displacement, magnetism, navigation
skills and solar/wind energy. One
hour built-in free swim and lunch period. Bring lunch, a drink and pack an extra
water bottle. A bathing suit, sunscreen and towel are needed. No open-toe shoes
allowed. Medical release form signed by parent. Maximum
