The
JR TECH Program is excited to announce three Marine Science Camp Workshops are
planned for this summer! Marine
Animal E.R., Coastal Investigations! and CSI-Marine Mammals! ********** Marine
Animal E.R.-- How
do sea turtles, seals and dolphins become stranded? How are they rescued, rehabilitated,
and released? How have humans impacted strandings? What do stranded animals teach
us about their natural history, populations, and the health of our oceans?
Learn
the answers from the experts--the educators and medical staff from the National
Marine Life Center! Through simulations, games, discussions and hands-on activities,
you will learn what it is like to work in a marine animal hospital. Dates:
Tuesday through Thursday, July 15, 16 & 17 Time:
9am-12Noon, snack only Where:
National Marine Life Center, Buzzards Bay Cost:
$100 non-member, $90 member Grades:

is no exposure to live animals. ********** Coastal
Investigations!-- You've
been to the beach, but have you ever studied it? Join us as we combine curiosity,
computers, and clam digging to carry out coastal investigations! You will sample,
observe, and record conditions at the shore as you learn how to take the "pulse"
of the bay. In teams, you will carry out short-term research projects and interpret
results, then compare them with other regions using real-time coastal data sets.
Be prepared to get your feet wet and your creativity flowing!
