The current extension of the Shining Sea Bikeway runs about 1.25 miles north of the Locust Street parking lot to Carlson Lane.

During mid-May the last of the rails were removed from the railroad bed extending from Carlson Lane to route 151 -- a distance of approximately 6 miles.

Construction and paving is expected to begin by mid-June 2008. The entire extension will be completed in 2009. When this phase is finished, you'll be able to ride from County Rd. in North Falmouth to Woods Hole on an 11.5 mile paved bike path.
