Addendum: There are 2 economical ferry choices to Martha's Vineyard from Falmouth and Woods Hole.

Since there is no long-term visitor parking in Woods Hole, you can take the shuttle from the Palmer Ave. Parking lot in Falmouth ($12.00 per day). Each shuttle bus is fitted with a rack that will hold 2 bikes. The shuttle takes approximately 10-minutes to reach the Steamship Authority dock. There you can buy your round-trip ferry ticket for $15.00 and add another $6.00 for your bike. So, for $21 you're all set for the complete round trip.

If you take the Steamship Authority ferry, you have a choice of landing at either Oak Bluffs or Vineyard Haven. You can land at one and depart from the other, if you choose. Your ticket is good for either.

After parking your car at the Palmer Ave. lot, you may just want to hop onto the upper extension of the Shining Sea Bikeway and pedal the 5 miles down to the Steamship Authority. Be aware of the time factor, because the boats do leave right on time.

The second option is to take the Island Queen from Falmouth. You'll have to park your car at their parking lot on Falmouth Heights Rd.,which is about a 2-minute bike ride from the dock. Parking at the Island Queen lot is $15.00 per day.

Please check the schedules of both, and time your day/route to fit within your schedule.

Once you're on the Vineyard, you can either bike to any destination, or take a shuttle bus to someplace and pedal to wherever.
